Throughout June and July, Parenting Group successfully hosted not one, but TWO amazing MUN(Model United Nations) summer camps. The first camp consisted of 16 students from schools across Shanghai and India, and went on for a whole week. In the first 3 lessons, students were elaborately taught the rules, vocabulary, and nuances of Model United Nations, and in the last 2 lesson - a fiery and intense debate occurred between the students on the topic of Mitigating the Effects of COVID-19. For a group of students who were experiencing MUN for the first time, the debate they had was extremely impressive, and way above the expected standard.

The success of the first MUN camp attracted a second wave of parents who wished to enroll their students in such an experience, and so Parenting Group arranged for a repeat of the same MUN course in the first week of July. This second course was even more successful than the first one, with 18 students and an even larger diversity of students from Hong Kong, China, Australia, India, and Dubai. The second course once again culminated in an outstanding final debate, way above the standard expected from a group of students who had never done MUN before.

MUN is a program that fosters problem solving, humanitarianism, and global leadership. Parenting Group is glad to be able to educate students about MUN, to prepare a powerful youth that’s ready to solve the problems of tomorrow, and with the brilliant results of the MUN summer camps this year, this series is surely to be continued for parents and students who’ve missed out this year.
